Easy-to-clean, tape-repellent or anti-graffiti paints often do not deliver what they promise. The effects are not as pronounced as desired, can only be achieved by adding expensive additives and are often destroyed by mechanical stress. During his doctoral thesis, Dr. Deniz Dogan was able to develop the basis for the Excellence Coatings business idea: Efficient easy-to-clean additives and coatings with long-lasting effects through an optimized phase separation process.
David Wedegärtner: PhD on the production of nanostructured coating systems in the "Coatings, Materials & Polymers" (CMP) working group at UPB under Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bremser, winner of the "AVK Innovation Award 2018" research prize.
Dr. Deniz Dogan: PhD chemist in the field of CMP under Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bremser, patenting of the underlying technology of Excellence Coatings.
Sven Wauschkuhn: M.Sc. in Business Administration at HHU Düsseldorf with a specialization in sustainability and entrepreneurship, experience in strategy consulting for SMEs and start-ups.
The Excellence Coatings team won the ESC GreenTech Pitch in Paderborn, took third place at ATEC 2023 and won the DB Mindbox pitch.
