reMouldi is developing a digital platform that makes injection molds for plastics processing smarter to use. Instead of storing or scrapping unused tools at the end of their product life, the start-up focuses on reuse: Thanks to a modular cassette design, existing tools can be adapted instead of being built from scratch. This approach is complemented by a digital marketplace where companies can share, rent or buy tools. A planned AI-supported matching function compares product designs with existing tool data and recommends suitable solutions. This results in lower costs, shorter development times and a contribution to greater sustainability in industrial production.
The founding team of reMouldi combines technical excellence and many years of research experience in plastics technology. Catharina Schilp and Theresa Arndt are mechanical engineers, have a doctorate in plastics processing and have in-depth knowledge of injection molding and joining plastics. This combination of industrial practice and scientific expertise makes them the ideal team to redesign the sustainable use of injection molds with a modular tool concept and digital marketplace.
The "reMouldi" team won 1st place in the "Idea" category at the "HSBI StartUp Award" and 2nd place at the "3rd Pitchmiup Night of StartMindenUP".
