Renephro develops a patented mixing module with which the composition of the dialysis fluid is individually adapted to the patient. Better fluid tolerance reduces complications during dialysis and significantly improves the patient's health and well-being. The Renephro module can be installed in front of any dialysis machine currently in use without having to make any changes to the existing dialysis machines. This opens up the market more quickly compared to competing technologies. By iteratively developing the technology into an innovative product platform, Renephro will position itself on the market as a provider of individualized dialysis treatments in the long term. Renephro does not compete with the established players on the market, but complements the existing dialysis machines with its system platform. The module is simply installed on the existing interfaces of the existing dialysis machines and patients can be treated immediately with individualized dialysis therapy.
As longtime friends, the Renephro founding team brings together a diverse team with a wide range of expertise. Each of the Renephro team members has several years of professional experience in different areas of industry or healthcare and is highly motivated about their tasks.
Franziska Löwandowski worked as a financial controller at Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel gGmbH, where she was responsible for the diagnostics department in financial matters and completed a Master of Arts in Business Administration at the FHDW Bielefeld while working.
Marvin Lohse completed a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (University of Kassel) at B. Braun Melsungen AG in February 2020. At the same time, he successfully completed an IHK apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic and thus acquired practical manual skills. His work experience at B. Braun gave him the idea for the improvements to dialysis. Most recently, he completed his Master's degree in Optimization and Simulation at HSBI in 2024.
Frederic-Leander Palesch completed his cooperative engineering training with Paul Hettich GmbH & Co. KG, the OWL Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences in January 2020. Most recently, he completed his M. Sc. in Biomechatronics at HSBI in 2024. Frederic will lead Renephro through his broad horizon of experience in the areas of quality and process design.
The Renephro team has already successfully asserted itself in competitive funding projects, patented the technology internationally, built up a strong network and developed a prototype ready for the first clinical trial.
